In its 2019 Spring Video Series, PaRR’s reporters sat down with some of the top ascending minds tackling the most importance competition policy challenges around the world.
“We will be up against big firms and we need to make sure we know what we are here for and should stand our ground, because the challenges are not very small,” said Amabelle Asuncion reflecting on what she learned implementing the Philippine Competition Act in 2015 and helping to get the Philippine Competition Commission off the ground the following year.
“When the law was passed, it was not even a course that was taught in law school,” the PCC Commissioner reminded us. In the agency’s early stages, Asuncion said the agency identified three immediate needs: advocacy, capacity and tenacity.
